Jesus’ invitation to his first followers was to, ‘Come and see.” This is an invitation to be disciples of Jesus, which is best understood as an apprenticeship in the way of Jesus. As apprentices, we observe Jesus’ teaching, habits, values, and emulate them empowered by the Holy Spirit. Being present with Jesus, being shaped by Jesus, and doing what Jesus did are three contributing factors to being apprentices of Jesus.
